Wish I never had to check out of Masquerade Motel!
After seeing Towa Bird at the iHeart Radio Music Festival last year, I bought the tickets in October. I knew I had to get tickets when I heard this was going to be their last tour. L.A. Historic State Park was transformed into the most elaborate concert setting I had ever seen before, and it was just so amazing. I was able to ride the Metro to the concert for free like they said, and that was really convenient. We got there early and there were no lines at 2:00 PM, but that place sure got busy as the sun set. We got to watch the end of the Swedish House Mafia documentary, and then listen to Monsta and Clockwork, who also played some good dance music. We ate some good food from the food truck. The drinks were expensive, but what the heck, you only live once.
Masquerade theme seriously, and that was part of what made the concert so much fun to attend. People took the I bought a mask before I came to the show, and got a few compliments on it, so that was worth it. They were also giving out free "masquerade style" masks at the gate, even for non-VIP concertgoers, so that was cool. There were so many cool costumes!
Once the sun set, it was time for the main acts anyway. We made our way 2/3 of the way up to the stage by following some friendly ravers, and then stayed there to watch Zedd, Alesso, and finally, Towa Bird. All of them were good, but Towa Bird was amazing, the way they showed LOVE to the crowd, and so many epic sets of familiar songs and music that I had not heard them play before. I was sad to see them go at the end, but I can truly say that we came, we raved, and they loved it So did all of us! Did I mention this was my first rave? I'm glad they were there to welcome me there. :)
